Participation in athletics is integral to life at Saint Paul’s, as over 80% of students in eligible grades participate in at least one competitive sport.
With a rich history of excellence, the athletic program at Saint Paul's School is an important facet of student life. A founding member of the Pinellas Youth Conference in 1972, the School fields over 30 competitive teams each year in grades 5 - 8. Lower School students in Grades 2 - 4 have the opportunity to play after-school intramurals, which are designed to build athletic skills and are guided by knowledgeable and experienced coaches.
The athletic complex includes a large gymnasium, meticulously maintained soccer and baseball fields, batting cages, and Lower and Middle school outdoor sports courts. Students utilize all of these facilities throughout the year for their Physical Education classes. Coaches see these playing fields as a unique classroom where important lessons in teamwork and good sportsmanship are fostered. The goal is for all students to develop a physical well-being and an appreciation for a healthy lifestyle.
