The curriculum for kindergarten through fifth grades is designed to expand and challenge young minds. Reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies form the core of the curriculum, complemented by classes in Spanish, computer skills, physical education, music, and art. Students enjoy their own hands-on science lab, which has a greenhouse and “pet-lending library.” Subjects are sequentially linked through the grades using various themes and activities to provide an immediate application of skills. Teachers encourage group interaction and cooperative ventures where children participate in decision-making and learn a sense of responsibility and respect for others. Saint Paul’s Lower School develops students who are eager to learn, certain of their abilities, and respectful of their classmates and teachers. |
