Community Service

Community service is an integral part of our program at Saint Paul’s, as it is a strong foundation for teaching the joys of giving. Cultivating sensitivity to the needs of the community is part of Saint Paul's mission, and students of all ages are involved in community service.

Plant A Seed
Helen Keller once wrote, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched; they must be felt with the heart." To help our students learn at an early age how to reach out to others, Saint Paul's has created a program called Plant A Seed. In this program, each grade level in lower school is paired with a community organization or residential facility. Students write letters, make cards, and create gifts for their pen pals. Some grades visit with their pen pals, while others invite representatives to campus. Students are currently paired with a local children's hospital, a Veteran's Administration hospital, assisted-living facilities, and other local groups.

Beta Club
The National Beta Club is the nation’s largest independent youth organization. Since its beginnings in 1934, Beta Club has been committed to providing students a positive experience in a supportive manner stressing service to others and encouraging leadership. Saint Paul's students in grades 6 through 8 are led by a faculty advisor and participate in service activities both in the school and in the community. Volunteering for civic projects, supporting environmental clean-up efforts, and making voluntary contributions to food drives are all Beta Club activities.

Middle School Community Service
Middle school students are required to complete a total of 15 community service hours during each year in middle school. These hours are accumulated from volunteer time outside of school-sponsored organizations.
